I am trying to upgrade from 2.00.03 Test Version to the paid version. What am I missing? It says the module is already installed when I try to install over the test version.
I resolved this by uninstalling the test version.

when install module in DNN 5.x ,dnn will notify that the module is old or not,if the module's version is not newer ,dnn will tell you it had installed.
you can modify the version then reinstall it.
perhaps dnn applied a option to force install.
